Updates on Life in Japan

I have often pondered on this subject and just wanted to get some other input if anyone is willing to regurgitate their feelings on this subject.  What exactly in this day and age is a minority, and how does one go about deciding who or what is in or out of the so called minority status?

It seems to me that the only people or groups or organizations that still cling to this rather archaic status symbol to represent their cause in being treated unfairly or differently than any other group or organization, are people with twisted views of humanity possibly brought on by biased upbringing, or simply bored with nothing better to do than try and agitate some interest in their cause by blaming society for them being where they are because they fall into the minority group.

Exactly what is it they really want to say?  We live in a day and age where there are no minorities.  We live in a day and age when any mans and womans ability to reach a goal or achieve what they set out to do is only hindered by their own self motivation to achieve that goal.

You can't blame your ina bility to achieve something on being mistreated or not being given the same chances because you are in a minority.  What is that?  Come on!  Give me a break.

I would really like for someone to convince me that the word minority still has a relevant place in society as we know it today, other than to be used as an excuse.

Now IGNORANCE is another matter, but we can talk about that another time.  Lets see if anyone out there harps in on this short point of view.
